چکیده
Abstract Background The lungs are the second most common site of metastases in colorectal cancer (CRC). aim this study was to investigate prognostic factors, including RNA‐binding motif protein 3 (RBM3) expression, patients with CRC treated pulmonary metastasectomy (PM). Methods cohort included all PM at Skåne University Hospital, Lund, Sweden, from 2000 2014. Clinicopathological, treatment, and survival data were collected. Immunohistochemical staining RBM3 evaluated on tissue microarrays samples lung a subset paired primary tumors. Kaplan–Meier analysis Cox proportional hazards modeling applied examine associations investigative factors overall (OS) recurrence‐free survival. Results In total, 216 tumor rectum (57%), left colon (34%), or right (9%) underwent PM. 5‐year OS rate 56%. Age > 60 years, more than one metastasis, size metastasis cm, disease‐free interval < 24 months, low score no adjuvant chemotherapy following for shorter OS. Conclusions Several may be aid selecting as well therapy.

Tyrosine kinase expression in pulmonary metastases and paired primary tumors.
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors against the receptors of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFR), epidermal growth factor (EGFR) and the platelet derived growth factor (PDGFR) are increasingly used in the treatment of progressive cancers. However, the expression of these receptors especially in lung metastases has not been examined. Tissue specimen from 35 lung metastases of 33 patients with rena...
متن کاملThe prognostic significance of surgically treated hydrocephalus in leptomeningeal metastases
OBJECTIVE The median survival of leptomeningeal metastases is short despite therapy and is sometime associated with hydrocephalus. We investigated the prognostic significance of surgically treated hydrocephalus in leptomeningeal metastases. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between December 2005 and November 2012, 1343 patients had brain metastases from systemic solid tumors. Of these, 71 patients (5.3%)...
متن کاملComparison of KRAS and PIK3CA gene status between primary tumors and paired metastases in colorectal cancer.
PURPOSE In metastatic or recurrent colorectal cancer (MRCRC), the concordance of Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PIK3CA) mutation status between the primary tumors and metastases is still controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between KRAS and PIK3CA mutational status ...
متن کاملClinical significance of B7-H4 expression in matched non-small cell lung cancer brain metastases and primary tumors
BACKGROUND B7-H4, a member of the inhibitory B7 family, is shown to have a profound inhibitory effect on the proliferation, activation, cytokine secretion, and development of cytotoxicity of T cells and may be involved in immune evasion in cancer patients. Although B7-H4 expression has been detected in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), there are no published reports on the expression of B7-H4...
متن کاملExpression Status of UBE2Q2 in Colorectal Primary Tumors and Cell Lines
Background: Activation of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway in various malignancies, including colorectal cancer, is established. This pathway mediates the degradation of damaged proteins and regulates growth and stress response. The novel human gene, UBE2Q2, with a putative ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme activity, is reported to be overexpressed in some malignancies. We sought to investigate the ...
